of the ancient Ryukyun kingdom (the name for Okinawa and the surrounding islands is the Ryukyu archipelago). Hundreds of years ago, there were a lot of Ryukyun kings who built huge castles on the tops of lush hills with gorgeous views. We spent the last few weekends touring some of the ruins, and Marcus and I attacked the castles as if we were warriors from ancient times (Marcus even brought his sword). Hope you enjoy the pics!
