Huh?

I went to HIS travel agency to purchase flights to Tokyo for our family vacation this summer. Awesome huh?! Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be in Tokyo on vacation. Too bad the kids will hardly remember it. Anyway, HIS has great deals on airfare and have an English-speaking staff. Unfortunately the parking meter wasn't English-speaking. Click on the picture to enlarge it and you'll see why I was so confused. It clearly says that a receipt doesn't come out. I put in 200 Yen and nothing changed on the screen. Then a little receipt popped out. I had no clue how anyone would know I had fed the meter and parking tickets are huge here so I tucked the little ticket under my windshield wiper as proof of payment. Luckily, my van wasn't ticketed or towed and I'll try to avoid Japanese parking meters in the future.

  1. I don't thick M could figure that out, and he's taken 3+ years of Japanese. Have fun in Tokyo! I am jealous!
