Ethan has survived yet another brush with death. We were walking around a secluded beach when suddenly Randy screamed, not very man-like but those things are hard to control in life-and-death situations, grabbed Ethan and ran for it. After he had safely distanced himself and Ethan from the snake he explained what all the commotion was about. Naturally, I rushed quickly to the scene to look for the snake as I was sure Randy was freaking out over what was probably a small garter snake. To my surprise, not only was the snake bigger around than my arm, it was at least 5 feet long. Who knows, maybe longer but it was slowly slithering under a bush so we'll just say it was an even 10 feet just to be sure. Luckily the snake wasn't hungry as it could've eaten Ethan in a single gulp! Turns out our not so common garter snake was actually a Habu snake, Japan's poisonous pit viper. Here is a picture I found online so you can see it for yourself.
Oh yuck! I hate snakes. I'm so glad Ethan's okay.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! That would be so scary. I'm glad nobody got hurt!
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of the beach pictures. It's still freezing here. There were some snow flutters yesterday. What's up with snow in May?!
I'm glad Randy's scream was helpful and Ethan's okay. What a scary snake!
ReplyDeleteWow----that is a bit scary. I don't think I would want to run into that on my walks on the beach. Sometimes, Bearlake might look pretty good.
ReplyDeleteCreepy! I am glad everyone is okay.
