The Japanese believe the shisa dog protects you from evil spirits. Shisas are seen everywhere on Okinawa, usually placed at gates, entrances to homes, and on top of roofs. For a girls day out, a few friends and I went to a little antique store where you can make your own shisa dog. Shisas resemble a dog and a lion and they come in all shapes and sizes so we put our creativity to the test. It was so cool to sit in a little Japanese hut nestled in the jungle, overlooking the ocean while we sculpted with clay. I will definitely go back to make another.This is the hut where we sculpted
