Military Games
OK, they're called "exercises" but to me it seems like a bunch of soldiers playing games. Last week we had to pretend there had been a terrorist threat/attack so there was heightened security. This meant random car checks every time we went through a gate. Somehow I had managed to escape the tedious process until I was heading to dinner with several friends. I guess seeing two pregnant ladies in the car was considered a threat because they asked us to get out of the car while they did their little inspection. I'm not sure if they appreciated us laughing our heads off the entire time and taking pictures of the process but we did it anyway. You can see the guy behind me using a mirror to look under the car and the other guy standing with his big (fake?) gun. Good times in the military!

Hey Melanie...those aren't fake...they are M1014 shotguns...the Marine's latest and greatest. My boys were beside themselves with excitement and even asked if they could get their picture taken with one. You're just lucky you didn't make a wrong move or he might have taken you out!
ReplyDeleteok, you are the cutest thing ever pregnant. when are you due? do you know what your expecting?!
ReplyDeletelaughing out loud! and you are the cutest pregnant girl ever!

ReplyDeleteHey Melanie! I dread those silly and very inconvenient car inspections. Way to turn it into some fun! Maybe I will miss them now that we're not military anymore. When are you due? I wanted to send you an invite to our blog ages ago when we went private (due to a weird stalker) but I don't have your email. Would you mind sending it? I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteHey Mel! Does the fun ever cease to exist?! :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't checked your blog in a long time! I'm glad you're doing well - you look fantastic (as usual). I'm so sorry to hear about Randy's Grandmother - I hope he is doing okay.
You are so humble when it comes to sharing the arts and talents you and your family have mastered. I'm hoping to hear a concert (or something similar) someday.
Tell Marcus & Ethan the kids miss them.
