After several hours of labor it looked like we were going to be in for several more. I sent Randy home to get the overnight bag and check on the boys. He didn't want to leave me but I promised him nothing was going to happen while he was gone. How wrong I was. Within minutes of his leaving, the doctor came in to check things out and what do you know, it was time to push.
Oh the irony. I grabbed the phone and called Randy. He picked up on the second ring. "Come back now!" I said and hung up the phone. I quickly put my headphones on and listened to some relaxing music as I willed myself not to push. It was agony. The doctors bustled around the room getting everything in place, all we needed was the dad. Luckily we live within walking distance of the hospital or this scenario could have been much worse.
Randy sprinted into the room, I pushed once, then the doctor told me to stop.
"Just cough for me," she said.
So I did, and out came Landon. Nine months of torturous pregnancy while living in the hottest, most humid place on the planet and all it took was a little cough to end it all. Very anti-climatic.
So here are a couple pictures of 7 lbs. 14 oz. of un-photogenic cuteness. This kid is super cute but capturing that on camera hasn't been so easy.
Landon is doing a great job enduring the love and attention of his older brothers. Ethan refuses to call him by any name other than Harry Potter and Marcus considers himself to be a great babysitter because he can successfully insert the binky when needed.
He is handsome! Great job Mel, you will always have a great coughing story. ;0
ReplyDeleteSOOOO cute! But then again, M+R seems to = cute/handsome. Oh, the adventures to come:) So glad your labor was short!

Wow! Those are some amazing big brothers. Good to hear Marcus has the whole babysitting thing down, and being Harry Potter will have it's upsides too you know, not everyone will be able to say they defeated ol' Voldy. Glad you're doing well!
