The Box
I have celebrated my previous 3 birthdays in 4 different countries-USA, Japan, England, and China. Can anyone beat that?
And about that box. A few days before my birthday, I was in the basement storage closet and noticed a huge box from my favorite store, Ann Taylor. I instantly thought 3 things.
1. It was just an empty box.
2. Randy had secretly made all my dreams come true, solidifying his title as "Best Husband Ever" in a single act.
3. If theory 2. was correct should I sneak a peek into the box and hope my ability to act surprised had improved over the years, or leave the box untouched and wait for my birthday?
In an instant I had that box open only to discover the cold, hard truth.
It was empty.
But now Randy knows what to get me for my next birthday. The one I'll be celebrating in Seattle where Randy will be slaving away as a resident at U Dub, short for University of Washington.
