Dear Bean,
You probably won't remember your 4th birthday which is both good and bad. Good because I was too busy (we have family visiting) to wrap your birthday presents. Not many kids get to open a cooler to find their new bike helmet inside, or a giant Rubbermaid storage bin with a Batman action figure inside. Please make sure you forget about that.
But please remember the beautiful morning on your birthday. We woke up with the sun (5:45 am) and headed straight to the beach where you wasted no time embracing the day.
To the kid with more imagination in his little finger than most people have in their entire body, and who reminds me to laugh when I get sad . . . Happy Birthday!
