Seattle Adventure, The First of Many

blurry pic taken with my phone

We woke up Friday morning to gray skies and rain. Our house is still mostly empty and the thought of another long day spent struggling to entertain the boys left me feeling exhausted. I decided to take action. I had never been to Seattle and needed to conquer my fear of the unknown (and exploring a city with 3 small children). After all, with my navigation system I can go anywhere! I loaded up the boys and we headed to the children's museum.
As we were cruising along the freeway, we crossed over one of the floating bridges on Lake Washington. The view was breathtaking and to top it all off a small plane was gliding along in the water right next to us as it took off for the skies. That's when Marcus exclaimed, "I think this is going to be the best day of my life!"
My day felt pretty complete when I heard that.
We arrived at the children's museum to discover it was at the base of the Space Needle, behind Experience Music Project, and next to an amazing water fountain. We had a great time, got to see much more than I had planned, and the sun even came out! It was not the best day of my life, but definitely the best day since moving to Washington.
Spontaneous adventures are a great way to live in the moment.
Next time I'll try to remember my camera.

We thought of the Ball family during our layover in Seattle. We said a big "hello" ... did you hear us? :)
