Day Four
It has been four days since I've had anything to eat. I vaguely remember the bowl of cereal I had on Sunday morning. Since then it's been nothing but ice chips to nibble on. Oh, except for that popsicle which turned out to be a bad idea. I woke up in the middle of the night, feeling so nauseated it was all I could do to lay on the bathroom floor and wish for death to take me. Luckily my nurses and doctors are fantastic and with a whole lot of new drugs, heated sheets, and some extra TLC, I am feeling much better again. Looks like ice chips will be a staple in my diet for a couple more days. I'm going to start a list of all the yummy things I want to eat as soon as I'm able. Oreo cheesecake has been calling my name. Any other suggestions?

A big old hamburger with fries!
ReplyDeletefresh ripe peaches with milk and sugar (I'm so mad I live so far away from the Hwy 89 fruit stands!!!)
ReplyDeleteIt's great to hear your recovery is going so quickly I hope it continues so that the cheesecake is comes soon! I'm glad you got a little Landon therapy!!! I bet it helps a lot. Are you reading anything good? I wish we could come visit you, we'd bring some ice dyed different colors just to give variety. Danica just walked up to the computer and saw Landon's picture and is standing here going "Oh mom, I just love him... I just love him..." she is falling on the floor with drama and giggles as she says it. We've really got to start planning your trip back here for Thanksgiving!!! :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm, so many yummy things come to mind. The first thing I wanted after I had Tyler was a chocolate milkshake. We got it on the way home from the hospital. Crown burger or Cafe Rio or yummy mashed potatoes with Reed's divine gravy would probably top my list...
ReplyDeleteAny word on when you'll get to leave the hospital?
I had a bowel obstruction after my appendectomy so I can relate to the misery. It was six days of ice chips for me. I would eat a raspberry cheesecake shake from Arctic Circle Yum. I am so glad things went well. I have been under the knife twice and it is the scariest experience. It is such a relief when it is over and you can focus on recovery. Take care!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to hear your recovery is going well, Mel! We're thinking and praying for you.
ReplyDeleteYAY for cheesecake! Maybe a little ice cream, too? :)
Godiva Chocolate cheesecake is my vote. Glad to hear your setting records, but totally would have thought you'd do that. You have huge fans back here in okinawa. We all miss you!
