The boys hit it off as if they'd never been apart. They ran around the yard shooting Nerf guns, boxing, swimming, chasing cats, and creating total chaos. I loved every second of it. Rebecca and I talked while we protected the babies from the bullets whizzing through the air while Nick fixed my iPod.
After getting together I was reminded again of the incredible friendships we made in Okinawa. Our friends became our family when we didn't have any family. We were willing to do anything for each other and that made our friendships stronger, intense even, and definitely unforgettable.
So now the plan is to figure out how we can all end up living on the same street, letting our kids run from house to house while the good times roll.
Hey, I can dream can't I?
Landon and the twins, born 3 weeks apart
Okay, you totally made me cry. It was depressing booking our Oura Wan Thanksgiving without the Balls (or the Peterson's for that matter) being on the family list. What cul-de-sac do you plan on living in so we can buy a lot now?
ReplyDeleteWhen I showed Noah the picture of all the boys together, he said, "NO FAIR!" They seemed a bit confused about how all his friends could be together again.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Melissa, it made me cry too!! I"m so happy for you both that you could get together. And insanely jealous! I'm still holding out hope that you'll be on that Patriot for Thanksgiving!!! Like you said, some friendships run deeper than distance and time, it just doesn't matter and no apologies are needed because when you see each other you just pick up like nothing has changed! I think we'll be the first to set down roots so I hope you all like the Portland area, we'll buy on a big vacant cul-de-sac and you can all join us!! It will be like Oura Wan but better!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun time! I take it Randy was at school? Look at all those handsome boys! Can we live on the culdesac too, even though we're not dentists? =) I promise to make a cheesecake for everyone each week, at least until we get sick of them. Then it'll be every other week. Miss you!
ReplyDeleteI think we should be able to live on the cul de sac too. All these kids, you definitely need a pediatrician!! Portland is a beautiful area. It is so awesome to see these pictures. We were so blessed in Okinawa. You just don't make friendships like this!
ReplyDeleteOkay, if everyone is living in the same cul de sac then it's only fair if we can join, too! Please? :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad this opportunity worked out for both of you! We miss the Balls and the Peterson's. Two great families!
Let us know your future PSC plans ... maybe we'll be in the same cul de sac again (hopefully not a fish bowl). :)
We're going to buy on a VERY BIG empty cul-de-sac, everyone can come join us!
ReplyDeleteThat is so fun to see the pictures of the boys all together. Landon could join the group and they could be triplets. I LOVE that our parents homes are a mile away from each other. The boys had such a great time. It was so fun to see Randy too right before we left to go to the airport. He got there just in time. I am all for the neighborhood planning. Could you imagine all of us settled in the same place together again? That would be so great. Count me in!
