Back in Business

During the three years we lived in Okinawa, we had the BEST neighbors ever.  Ever.  Because they were so awesome we swapped kids every weekend so we could go out on a date.  One weekend the neighbor kids would come to our house while their parents went out, and the next weekend they watched our kids while we went out.  It saved us a ton of money and since there weren't many babysitters to pick from, it was a win-win situation.  But I wouldn't recommend this for everyone.  It only works well when you absolutely love the family you swap with, which we did.
It is with great pleasure that I announce "The Swap" is back on.  Hallelujah! We've found an awesome family with four boys who meet the required criteria (well-behaved kids).  They came over Saturday night and all seven boys had a blast.  Randy and I smiled to each other as visions of future dates filled our hearts with joy.
The Swap:  Totally Recommend IT

  1. I wouldn't be so jealous if you hadn't found a family with FOUR boys. Dude, I'd nearly be willing to fly to WA every other weekend for a date night swap if you'd have us. We are in the midst of no-date-night-swapping and it's a bummer. So glad your swap is back on (but I'm still jealous).

  2. Ahem... BEST neighbors ever?!? :)

Seriously, it's so great you found yet another swap family. We have 2 or 3 we swap with now, but nothing beats a regular swap schedule.

  3. Awww Mel, we miss you guys a ton! Nothing beats leaving your kids in the care of a couple you can trust. The kids had such a blast playing outside every day, but date nights were a total delight for them and us!

I'm so glad you met a good family to swap with ... we'll spend the next 3 years looking and thinking of you! :)
