A Taste of Summer

We had an almost-perfect Easter weekend.  We spent Saturday pretending like it was summer.  The sun was out, it was 70 degrees, and the air even smelled warm.  We were outside the entire day.  We went on a hike through the forest where everything was carpeted in green fur, we worked in the yard, and roasted hot dogs.  It was blissful.

Sunday it started to rain and it hasn't stopped yet, but I don't mind.  I had a great Easter anyway as I let myself be sad and miss my mom and sister, and at the same time feel happy as I'm reminded our separation is only temporary.  Just like our sunny Saturday gave me hope for warmer weather, I was filled with renewed strength as we celebrated the resurrection of the Savior.  It was a good day.

  1. Love the beautifully carpeted forest! Please send your rain to us ... it's closing in on 2 months of nothing.
