Marcus turned eight years old on Saturday which meant there was some major celebrating around these parts. I think birthdays are great and everyone needs a day for some extra love and attention, just don't ask me to spend hundreds of dollars to make that happen. Needless to say we didn't throw Marcus a big party, inviting every kid in his class, and he was okay with this. I'd like to think it's because I made his day totally awesome but it's probably due more to the fact that we're taking the kids to
Great Wolf Lodge tomorrow (since Randy's on spring break) and we're telling Marcus it's for his birthday.
It wasn't a trip to Disneyland, but I think I made his wildest dreams come true when I surprised him by showing up at school with lunch from McDonald's. Every kid in the cafeteria (and there were a lot) couldn't stop staring and Marcus was in heaven from all the attention.
I hit "Best Mom Ever" status when I gave Marcus a remote-controlled helicopter. He loves it and so does everyone else in the family. After I demonstrated to Randy that the propellers couldn't chop off any fingers or poke out eyeballs he became a fan too.
Happy Birthday Marcus!
Happy Birthday Marcus! We still remember visiting you guys in the hospital when M was born. He's still as handsome as ever! ;)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how old he is, which must mean you and I are getting old too. See you next week!
