We're not Jewish but we celebrated our first Rosh Hashanah in style! Since the boys had the day off school I took them to the beach. It wasn't just any beach either. This beach was only fifteen minutes from our house and I didn't even have to get on the freeway to get there. Who knows, maybe I'll end up liking RI after all.
Cami, who feels like my only friend in the world right now, drove down from Boston to make this beach trip even better. (Cami and Pete are members of our Boston Family and it's a nice bonus that our kids are all the same ages which makes hanging out even more enjoyable.) But back to our Rosh Hashanah Beach Day
Marcus spent most of the day on the boogie board and Bean fearlessly learned how to catch the waves too. It's amazing the difference warm water makes. The only thing that would get my kids out of the water was their desire to dig to China. Cami brought along her real-deal shovel and the kids went crazy creating huge craters to play in. Parker slept the day away in his car seat and I think I smiled for the second time since we got here. The first was when
Cami and Ellen showed up on my door step. Things are looking up!

Our posterity. In our Boston days there were only 2 of them. |

See the surfers in the background? The sign of a great beach! |
I'm so happy we're neighbors again (well, 90 minute neighbors). It was great to see you on Saturday!
ReplyDeleteI want to move back to New England with posts like these! I can't believe we missed you guys by one year.
