Every spring I ask myself the same question: How did we survive the past 4-5 months of cold weather with nothing to do? This year the answer is Dunkin' Donuts. Let me give you a little insider tip about living in New England. New Englanders love their coffee and Dunkin' Donuts is where they get their fix. You can drive for miles to get to a Target, gas station, or even a McDonald's but chances are there is a Dunkin' Donuts within walking distance. They are everywhere! Back in our Boston days there was cop directing cars in and out of a Dunkin' Donuts parking lot every morning to to prevent a daily traffic jam.
We don't drink coffee and their donuts aren't anything to brag about but the kids love it and on freezing cold days with nothing to do we'd often find ourselves getting donuts and hot chocolate. What a lame 'fun' thing to do, right?
Now that the weather is kind of warm (50 degrees), the kids are outside playing every spare second, I take the little boys to parks to fill our time, and I'm generally in a much better mood. It really is tragic there has to be winter at all. I could totally do without it.

ReplyDeleteGlad I found your blog. I could skip winter, too. And really, hot chocolate and donuts could never be lame for a kid! :)
