We had a great Christmas this year with just our little family. Our boys provide us with enough chaos, entertainment, and more chaos, that we never had time to miss being together with our extended family in Utah.
We had another memorable "Brothers Night Out" where we took the boys out to dinner followed by shopping for sibling presents. They put a lot of thought into what to get each other and did a great job of being sneaky in the store so no one knew what they were getting. This tradition is a keeper for sure. {For more details, click

Christmas Eve was extra special this year because Randy invited
Larry, a man from our congregation to join us. He's from Ireland and
has the best accent. He had no plans for Christmas so we were thrilled he could join
us. After a delicious dinner, we had our special Family Night. The
boys each performed something, Larry read the Nativity {which sounds
even better with his accent}, and then we shared our "gifts" for
Jesus.

After eating delicious pomegranate cheesecake, the boys opened their
new pajamas and their brother gifts. This was a lot of fun seeing them
so excited to give their present to their brother and they all had a
great time playing with their new stuff. I think this gave them time to
really appreciate the gifts that wouldn't have gotten as much attention
by the bigger gifts they received the next morning.
The boys went
to bed and Randy and I set to work assembling presents. Santa lucked
out this year and gave the boys stuff that didn't require any assembly.
I wish Randy and I had been as smart. We were up until one in the
morning getting things ready.
