Last Day of School

It's over!  I have time to breathe again.  Finally!  The longest school year in the history of ever is finally over.  The great thing about having such a short summer vacation is I feel absolutely no pressure to do anything over the top to entertain the boys.  I refuse to browse Pinterest looking for ways to make their summer the best summer of their lives.  We are going to relax.  We are going to the beach.  We are going to have fun.
The stress of getting to all the end-of-year activities with an already tight schedule has made the last few weeks ridiculously stressful.  Landon had his preschool graduation and just getting to it involved racing out of his final swim lesson, passing Randy in the parking lot where he was headed to the pool to pick up Bean from his lessons that ended ten minutes later, Landon changing into his clothes while I raced to his school,  arriving just in time for him to sing, filming the whole thing so Randy could watch it later, Randy zooming over to the school with Bean for the tail end of the program, eating ice cream, then racing back to the pool to pick Marcus up from swim team practice.  And that was just one day of chaos.  This is how almost every day has been for the last six weeks.  No wonder my face has broken out with acne the likes of which I haven't seen since my teenage years.  Oh, and don't forget that day when I was leaving the grocery store with a van full of groceries and got a call from the school nurse that I needed to pick up Ethan because he bit his lip and needed stitches.  Yes, that was another fun day too.  I need a vacation.  A tropical one without kids.

Last day of 4th grade, 2nd grade, and Preschool.

Marcus waving goodbye to the last day of elementary school.  Next year he moves on to intermediate school with mixed classes, lockers, and a 7am bus.
