Happy Halloween!

We've got candy up to our eyeballs which means the kids are happy and there are candy wrappers everywhere. We family picture was taken at the church trunk-or-treat party where the kids played games to earn more candy {just what we needed, more candy} and I won a prize in the chili cook off for the second year.  Recipe is here.http://www.melskitchencafe.com/creamy-white-chili/

Marcus is living and loving the life of a tween.  He and his buddy planned to to be Star Wars characters together.  Marcus is Chewbacca.  I dropped him off at a friend's house in the afternoon and he didn't get home until almost 10pm.

You know you're in Seattle when...

We didn't get any trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood because the houses are too spread out and far from the road which meant Randy and I took the boys together for the first time and it was a lot of fun to walk around in a big group with all our friends as the kids ran from one house to the next.  We went to a neighborhood where the houses are crammed together which makes for a lot of candy in a short amount of time.  This neighborhood welcomes the hundreds of children by going all out with decorations.  Nearly every house had lights, cobwebs, huge inflatables, skeletons, and window decorations.  My favorite was the giant eyeball projected from an upstairs window so it looked like a huge monster was looking down on you.  It definitely added to the excitement of the night.

Landon loves bowling and actually wants to work at a bowling factory {where they make bowling balls} when he grows up!  High aspirations for this kid!
