The Train Game

The worst part about vacations is unpacking when you get home.  Even worse is unpacking while getting Christmas decorations up.  Our house has been a disaster for the past week leaving me mentally unstable with all the chaos and clutter.  I put a lot of pressure on myself to make Christmastime memorable and meaningful and organized.  Since I'm not an organized person I have obviously set the bar a little too high because one week into December and I'm already wanting this month to be over.  This is not a good thing.  I made a mental list of all the things I have accomplished on my huge list of to-do's and am feeling a tiny bit better.  Plus I've lowered my expectations considerably so I can cope with the state of things as they are.  Not sure if that's a good way to go but hey, I'm sleeping at night so whatever.
And while I'm keeping things real, I have to post this funny story.  I like this story for a few reasons.  First, because it's true.  Second, because it's gives you a good glimpse into my life of boys.  Third, because it makes me feel better about my mental state.  If anyone else were in my shoes they'd be struggling to maintain their sanity too.  Or at least I think they would. . .
So it was Friday afternoon.  Marcus and his brothers were playing with the train that goes around our Christmas tree.  I hear a lot of laughing and fun happening but don't pay much attention as I try to clean {because cleaning is what I always do yet somehow my house is NEVER clean}.  Later, Marcus tells me they've come up with a fun game with the train.  They call it "crotch train."  They sit on the tracks and drive the train between their legs "and it vibrates and feels so weird!"
Ew!  So gross!  So inappropriate!  And so funny I laughed to tears.  I told Randy he had to deal with it because there are some things no mother should have to do.  He yelled to the boys to find another game to play.  I will never look at our Christmas train the same again.
Boys are gross.
