December Things

I know it's February but I can't let all the little things in December get forgotten.  Luckily, I don't take nearly as many pictures as I used to.  My new rule is if it's not worth putting on the blog for posterity, it's not worth documenting in the first place.
December was busy as usual but it was definitely a fun month.  I wanted to do something meaningful like dragging my boys to a Christmas concert or play but finally decided the effort involved would far outweigh any positive memories.  Why kill myself to do something no one wants to do?  And pay good money for it too?  Maybe next year.

This beautiful day during the first week of December was probably the last day we saw the sun for more than a month.  We just survived the wettest December in the history of Washington.  It was bad!

The boys took advantage of Randy's plentiful Christmas lights and played football under the lights on a dark school day at 4:30pm.

Landon tried out for an elite lacrosse team and made it.  He played in a tournament and scored goals and represented the Ball name on the field.

He's proud to show off his first battle wounds.  We call these "lax arms."

Happiness at home.  Sometimes it feels rare

While Randy spent hours hanging lights, I spent five minutes making my front door look festive :)

Randy bought a couple harnesses and rope so he could risk his life to get lights in trees

Henry saw this inflatable of Santa at his preschool and he ran up and started hugging him

Christmas cards are the worst!  But it's an excuse for a family picture and I love getting cards so I suck it up and get them done.  This was half the pile I sent out.

Ethan and Henry are best buds, especially when Ethan shows Henry how fun his toys are

Delivering Christmas cookies with Christmas lights and this year Ethan drove us

Marcus got new skis.  It's the last pair we are paying for so basically he's an adult now.

Brothers Night was fun as usual.  We ate dinner at a sushi restaurant and I lost track of the number of sushi rolls we consumed.  We kept our server hopping!  Henry and Parker ate plain, white rice.

Our good friend and former Bishop was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma.  Marcus and his youth group picked out fabric and made a quilt for him.

Landon had his first choir concert.  They all had to sing with masks on so that was weird but we were just glad they got to do it.  Landon's favorite class at school is choir and I love hearing him sing as he walks around the house.  It's too bad his voice is going to change.
