Christmas 2022

Christmas came and went in a blur of activities.  We had a great Christmas Eve as a family and enjoyed opening way too many Christmas presents on Christmas morning.  We had time to eat a breakfast of cinnamon rolls and candy before cleaning up and getting ourselves to church.

We spent a lot of time talking to Marcus which was great because usually he gets to call on Monday mornings while the boys are all busy getting off to school.  This time I passed my phone to each boy and they got to talk with him one-on-one and show him all their presents.  Marcus wasn't sad to be away for his first Christmas, mostly because its sunny and warm and no one in his area has money for Christmas gifts so it's pretty low-key.

I tried to get a photo with each boy and all their loot but it never happened.  Let's just say that no one was disappointed.  The big surprise/reveal.....We are getting a boat!  HOORAY!!  We've been talking about getting a boat for years and it has finally happened.  Marcus was thrilled and a little mad it's happening while he's gone but the rest of the boys were unimpressed.  They were more excited about their Lego sets.  Whatever.

The boat details:  We went in on a new boat with two other families.  We are splitting the cost and the boat time between the three of us.  This is a win for a couple reasons.  It lowers the cost and it ensures the boat gets used frequently and forces Randy to adjust his work schedule so he doesn't work on the days we get to take it out.  We had friends who did this the past two years and it worked great for them so we are following in their footsteps and looking forward to some good memories on the water.

Here are the boys excited about another HUGE Lego rollercoaster set that Randy bought them.  We have no where to put this but they can have fun building it and then I guess it's going to the attic.

Henry loves his new shoes was so excited he almost cried when he opened a new Nintendo Switch game from Santa.  The video is hilarious!

Landon got this sandwich maker and it's awesome and makes it so easy to make a breakfast sandwich that tastes just like the ones at McDonald's.

Ethan was so clever and got me this little sign so he knows when the dishwasher is filled with clean or dirty dishes.  He's notorious for putting his dirty dishes in it when it's full of clean ones and its so annoying!  Hopefully this sign will solve the problem :)

Here's the back of our Christmas card this year.  It was basically my way of saying we are spread thin in all areas of our lives.  Ha!  But it is what it is and the great part about this busy phase of life is that I sleep really well at night!
Merry Christmas!
