A Little of This, a Little of That

I sat down to post an update, unsure what to say, and started scrolling through pictures for inspiration.  I decided a run through of the most recent pictures from my phone would suffice.

Randy, Ethan, and scouts went snow caving at Mt. Rainier for the third year in a row.  Looks miserable to me but they always have fun (even though the ceiling started to slowly sink so Randy couldn't sleep all night as the claustrophobia got the best of him)

The boys' beds finally arrived!  The aftermath of the great bedroom swap that started back in January is still lingering

Sleeping babies are the cutest.

The most recent court of honor where Randy was presented with an award and a spontaneous standing ovation by all these boys for all Randy has done for them.....which has been a lot!
The Green Monster (which no longer looks green) is finally gone.  After months of deliberating and many failed attempts at shopping for a couch, we finally bought a new one to replace this awful thing.  Notice the duct tape?  This wasn't even fit for a college apartment.  I hired some kid to take it straight to the dump.
We threw the couch (that we've had since we got married) off the balcony because it was easier than fitting it through the doorway
This is the new couch that is the comfiest couch I've ever sat on.  And it's huge!  The whole family fits on it and we don't even touch each other.  After I get some cute pillows for this baby I'll love it even more.
Henry loves to throw rocks down the drain.  Unfortunately we are running out or rocks.

Look who showed up for lunch while we were throwing rocks down the drain!

Ethan and his best friend Austin who moved away but came back for a visit.  Ethan bought them each a mask for Austin's birthday.  I told them they were not allowed to ride their bikes with the masks on, but it sure would've looked funny!
My new church assignment is Stake Relief Society 2nd Counselor.  And this huge all-day event is my one of my new big responsibilities.  Ugh, but I can do hard things.  Apparently.  This assignment is going to affect my family in a big way for several years.  Deep breaths.....
I love my couch so much that I read on it instead of on my bed while the boys watch TV.
Marcus made the Skyline Varsity Lacrosse team!  He's the only freshman who made the team.  We bought him an ice cream cake to celebrate.  And now we're all curious how he's going to pull off lacrosse and track at the same time, and still go to school.  (also, I'm really happy he had a shirt on in this picture!)

I read this article and changed my phone's screen saver to this artwork.  It reminds me I'm never alone and heaven's help is only a prayer away.  Sometimes juggling life is really overwhelming and seeing this frequently not only helps me manage my screen time better, but also gives me a better perspective.
