Landon and Parker's Birthdays

More summer birthdays!  So exciting!  Oh wait, no it's not.  But my boys will be sad if I don't post about it.  Since we were in Seabrook they were very clear that we wouldn't celebrate them AT ALL until we got back from the trip.  Instead we did it the next evening when we got home from our trip, totally exhausted.  But I managed to pull things together and even had the foresight to print out a bunch of pictures of the boys to hang up.  The pictures are definitely a favorite tradition.

The only picture I have because I told Marcus to film and he chose to focus on his parents rear ends instead. Teenagers are the worst.

Thank you Marcus for the wonderful birthday picture of your brothers!

The boys opened a few presents, we ate spaghetti (blah) and yummy garlic bread from Met Market, and had a birthday cake that I can't even remember making.  I wonder what I made?  Hmmmm... Landon is on a super health kick ever since his favorite cousin told him he was fat and opted for a watermelon instead of cake.  He pigged out on it and I was proud of him for being health-conscious.

I nailed it on their gifts this year.  A few months ago they both became obsessed with the Mighty Ducks on Disney Plus.  They watched all the movies and every episode of the new series.  I bought them some inline skates from the thrift store but they were terrible and Landon's wheels melted all over on the garage floor somehow.  So that's a fun mess.  I ignored their requests for more Legos and lacrosse gear and bought them brand new inline skates and street hockey gear.  They were thrilled!  The first time they wore their skates there was lots of crashing and complaining but they persevered and they've become really good skaters.   They spend all their spare time playing street hockey outside Barb's house where the road is flat and there are less cars.  It gets intense but everyone loves it and I bought enough sticks for everyone and their dog to participate.  Grandma Great even pitched in and bought them elbow and knee pads which they were so thankful for the first few days of skating as they crashed over and over again.

So happy birthday to these two dudes who are still the best of friends.  They get along so well even though they are very different.  Parker is laid back and Landon is intense but Landon has all the fun ideas so Parker is happy to follow along.
