I bet you've never eaten Sunday dinner at a Japanes restaurant with your boss, have you? Well, we did. When he invited us over for dinner we thought his wife was cooking. They took us to this cool hole-in-the-wall restaurant where no one spoke a word of English. Luckily the menu had pictures (snapshots glued to the menu with a hand-written description). We had to take off our shoes and we sat on cushions around a coffee table. I ate lots of tasty raw fish and we discovered Ethan likes radishes. Marcus refused to touch anything so he drank Sprite all evening. Weird to think that last Sunday we were at church in Utah listening to talks about the pioneers.
We also experienced what happens when you drive down the right (wrong) side of the road. A friend drove us to church and followed the car in front of us (full of new-comers) as they made a left-hand turn into the right lane. Our friend who has lived here for 3 years started to follow them when suddenly she gasped and said, "Oh no! I just pulled an American!" I didn't even realize what had happened until 2 lanes of traffic started heading toward us. There was a large median so we had to flip a U-turn while oncoming traffic patiently waited (no one honked, they're too nice).
