"Holy Cow!"

That's what I said when I saw this subway map. You'd need a degree from Harvard to figure it out so luckily Randy was up to the task. There are 17 different lines and they are owned by two different companies so sometimes when we transferred trains we had to come up out of the subway and go back down through another gate. No small task when you're hauling 2 strollers.
The Tokyo subway is surprisingly quiet. NO ONE talks on their cell phones because it's considered rude. The trains are super clean and the seats are actually cloth covered. None of that cheap vinyl like in the States.

If you get claustrophobic this is not a good place to be!

  4. Yikes! That looks super confusing. Good thing Randy was there to save the day. You should just strap on your rollerblades like the good old days. :)

BTW, I thought you might find it amusing that Sheldon Martin is my husband's second counselor. They are expecting their fourth baby. Wowsers. Who would have thought we'd be neighbors after all these years. Small world.

  7. Mel, I was just on the DC Metro following the 4th of July fireworks. We were packed like sardines, kids were crying, people were NOT quiet, and it was hot. Gotta love adventures!
