A New Club Member

I’m a member of many clubs--the kind of clubs you are part of due to common circumstances. I remember when I joined the Just Married Club. This club brought excitement, change, and lots of new experiences with it everyday. I’ll never forget the day I joined the ranks of the Mothers Club. This club is the best club to be in by far. I can hardly remember what life was like before I became a member. Six months ago I became a member of the Sibling Tragically Died Club. This is a small club and we are a close-knit bunch. You can recognize us by the hole in our hearts. Some days the hole is bigger than others but it is always there and we have learned to live with it just the same.

On Wednesday morning I became a member of another club that I don’t want to be in—the Cancer Club. I found out my mom has cancer in a few different places. I cried when I heard the news. Then I went running and I cried. And then I prayed. The following scripture has been running through my mind ever since.
“Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend.” (Mosiah 4:9)
And then I stopped crying.
