I took the boys to a park to feed the fish and turtles and a nice little old Japanese lady gave us a handful of fruit. I've never seen it before and gestured to her to show me what to do with it. I wasn't sure if she was handing me fish food or what.
They're about the size of large strawberries with a hard, outer shell. The shell easily peels off exposing a white, juicy fruit in the middle that tastes kind of like a kiwi.
You are the winner if you can tell me what the mystery fruit is. I have no clue but I'd eat it again.
I can't tell from the picture, but from the description, it sounds like lichi (leechee). Is there a small pit in the middle? It's amazing the things they have here that we don't!
ReplyDeletethey serve them for dessert at krishnas and they are yummy!
