Living on a small island means we rarely drive in our car longer than 15-20 minutes. On the rare occasion when we drive farther than usual, my boys get so BORED! It's ridiculous, really. The last time such an occasion occurred we tried playing the alphabet game. You know the one where you look for each letter of the alphabet? It failed miserably. As you can see by the picture, most of the signs we passed were written in kanji. And yes, there are lots of pink cars in Japan.
Kanji is such a majestic looking written language. Those posters could be a bunch of swear words and it still looks sophisticated to me.
