Chores

A sure sign I'm a mother of boys: every Saturday you can find me ironing shirts for my boys to wear to church the next day.
This time as I ironed I thought of my mom. She typed up a few things she thought we'd need to know after she passed away and one of those was how to iron a shirt. I am horrible at getting the ironing done and usually only iron enough shirts to get me through that day. This time I decided to be a little more organized, a little more like my mom, and get a few weeks worth of shirts ironed.
I think I made her proud.
By the way, if anyone knows where I can buy boy's wrinkle-free dress shirts I'd be willing to fork out the big bucks.

  1. Ugh. Ironing. You made me proud, that's for sure.

Since we own our fair share of dress shirts, the only reliable wrinkle-free brand I have and love that comes in boys' sizes is VanHeusen. Sometimes they have them at JCPenney and often I find them on Ebay. Good luck!

  6. You are a great wife and mother! I HATE ironing, so Braden has to iron his own shirts. Poor guy. Randy is lucky to have you!

  7. I was going to say Penney's, too. I love them. I'm not an ironer, either...unless it's an emergency. In my home, if it doesn't look great coming out of dryer...it goes to the thrift store to bless the life of someone who likes a bargain. And ironing. Good luck!

  8. I had to laugh one Saturday when the boys were home and attending 2 sacrament meeting and missionary prep and all the meetings my husband went to. That day I ironed 12 white shirts (with starch). My mamsan came on mondays and heaven forbid it couldn't have waited for her to iron them. I would be more then happy to go to JC Penny and pick up some no iron shirts for your boys just email me their sizes.

  9. I iron once a month. no more no less.
For my boys shirts we have been lucky enough to be handed down polo brand shirts and I have not had to iron them once. I have also purchased VanHeusen shirts and they work fine most of the time.

    Happy ironing!
