Easter

Growing up, one of my favorite Easter traditions was getting a new dress to wear to church. Usually the dress was homemade and matched my sisters (yes, all five of us matched). After my mom did our hair, usually curled or in some fancy braid, we'd file out to the car for church, arriving ten minutes before the meeting started.
Since I don't have a daughter to dress, I bought my boys coordinating outfits. What, you can't tell they coordinate? Think brown and green ties and socks. I should've taken a picture of their socks. It's the only accessory I get to indulge in for boys. Sad, I know. But that's not the point.
Before we even arrived at church Ethan managed to get soaked up to his knees by jumping in a puddle. Landon's tie never made it out of the diaper bag after he yanked it off during our quick photo shoot, and Marcus managed to get marker all over his pants shortly after we arrived at church. Oh yes, and we did arrive before the meeting started but only because we sprinted through the parking lot.
The moral of this story is my mom was amazing. I will never, never compare, but I'm dealing with it.
Today's theme: We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.

By the way, as the boys were ready to make a mad dash for Easter eggs, I overheard a mother tell her child, "Get as many eggs as you can. If someone pushes you, push them back!"
Seriously?
Seriously.

  1. Cute boys! Can't wait to see them. I bet the mom that said that was the one that was at ours that had on a long leather jacket, stilleto heels and slacks, huge sunglasses (there was no sun) and her daughter was looking at everyone's shoes saying who made them. Where do these people come from?
