I'm a Swede, Not a Line Backer

I am Swedish.  My grandfather was a Swede and his parents were Swedes.  My dad is half Swedish and my maiden name, Spjute, (the "j" is silent) means spear.  It's also a small town in Sweden.
Recently there has been some confusion about this.  Last week as I was bowling, one of my friends asked me if I was English.  I told her I'm Swedish.  She went on to say, "Oh.  I just wondered because you have really broad shoulders and a square face.  I have broad shoulders too and I'm English so I just wondered.  Isn't it frustrating no matter how skinny you get you can never look thin because of your big shoulders?"
"Oh, ummm. . . yeah,"  I replied.
It's not ever day someone tells you that you look like an English line backer.  It totally made my day.
Totally.

  1. Seriously? And you weren't offended? If it makes any difference, I've never thought you looked like an English linebacker. Do I get friend points for that?

  3. Erika has linebacker shoulders. I never thought you did. You should have said "no, but my sister died while in England" that would have made her feel awkward;)
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINZ!-almost

  4. I don't know this person but obviously she is delusional, socially awkward and needs us to pray for her. Not only are you beautiful but you are seriously COOL too!
