Death by Bicycle Ride

The scene of the accident and I can't stop laughing
OK, I didn't die but my life did flash before my eyes as I sailed over my handlebars and onto a pile of rocks.  Did I mention this happened at the end of our driveway?  It did.  I didn't even make it onto the street when I crashed.
The good news is none of my neighbors were out to witness my embarrassing crash when I flew through the air, face-planted in the dirt and lodged my bike in their tree.  My new jeans will be as good as new as soon as I patch up the tiny hole and wash out the blood.
The bad news is my knee is killing me!  I finally went to the ER to see what they could do.  I ended up with a couple stitches but I think I ripped them open as soon as I walked on it because my knee won't stop bleeding.  Looks like it will be a while before I can ride my bike, run, or pretty much do anything that requires bending my leg.
So fun!

My boys wondering why I was on the ground

Marcus trying not to laugh
If you're wondering how an accomplished bike rider such as myself (I've been riding since I was four) could crash on a flat surface with nothing in her way, let me explain:  I was trying to take a picture of my cute family riding in front of me with my right hand which left my left hand to pull on the front brake.  My bike is new and the brakes are a little too sensitive so as soon as my hand squeezed the brake my bike stopped and I didn't.  By the way, I wasn't wearing a helmet and my head is about the only thing that doesn't hurt right now.

  7. I hope your knee is starting to heal up finally. There is nothing worse than an injury to set you back! Thankfully the crash wasn't worse and didn't involve any cars!! Good for Marcus for not laughing, he's a good kid!
