It wasn't long after we had set up camp that my feelings towards camping quickly changed. I realized why camping was such a wonderful thing: The boys love it! They have trees to climb, woods to explore, dirt to dig in, waves to jump over, and fires to burn marshmallows on. The boys practically collapsed into bed each night from sheer exhaustion. Not once during the week did I have to tell my boys to "Calm down!", "Stop wrestling!", or "Turn off the TV!" I had time to relax and read a book and that is the measure of a true vacation.

I'm converted to camping. (As long as there are flushing toilets and hot showers. If not, then forget it!)
The Arlington Ward campout is quickly approaching...wish you were here!
ReplyDeleteI love that second photo of the kids on the beach. You should enter it in a contest!
What beautiful weather! I bet it feels a lot better than the incredible humidity of Okinawa, eh?
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the camping thing, but am probably a little more high maintenance. My idea of "camping" is a motel room. :) Love the photos ... and the memories you're making for your kids will be there forever!
This looks like so much fun. You are our camping buddies!! Promise me we can do it again someday?
ReplyDeleteLooks like an awesome trip! I totally would have missed Bean at the top of the tree--he's so cool!
