For the first time in twelve years I was able to join my family on a summer vacation. We spent a week camping on the beautiful Oregon Coast. This was also one of the best camping trips Randy's ever been on because due to his busy residency, the only thing he had to do was pack his suitcase. Yes, you heard that right. I single handedly loaded up the van with camping gear for a family of five for eight days of camping bliss. Tents, sleeping bags, bedding, suitcases stuffed with clothing for the varying temps, food, coolers, camp stove, dutch oven, more food, scooters, air mattress, pirate swords, books, toys for the drive, beach toys, towels, and the kitchen sink. Randy had to bail out early and return to school so I was a lone parent camping with my boys. I even got the unexpected privilege of unloading all the camping gear because Randy had to help his brother move.
I. Am. Aweseome.
And Randy feels guilt but I like the bragging rights I've earned. So stay tuned for more pics of the O. C. You'll want to go there the next time you take a family vakay. I'm off to do about ten loads of laundry.

Wow, Mel. You rewarded yourself, right? Ice cream, chocolate...something?
ReplyDeleteYou.are.awesome! Holy smokes Mel, I don't know how you do it. My mom called you super woman yesterday, she was right! Wish we could have been there too!
ReplyDeleteHow cool! The sounds, the smell, the vast ocean and to have your family together is a vacation worth packing for ... even if you have to do it yourself. :)
