What a Breeze!

Going back to school is no big deal when you're not "the new kid."  I didn't spend the day worrying about Marcus like I usually do, and since Bean had an older brother to help him out on the bus I wasn't worried about my little kindergartner (too much).  It made for a very uneventful morning for which I am grateful.  We have enough exciting things going on around here.  For example, the bobcat we saw running through the park behind our bus stop just as the kids got on the bus, or the news that we need to "brush up on our Italian" since we'll probably be stationed in Italy after Randy's graduation next year.  So with all that going on I deserved a mellow first-day-of-school adventure.

His awesome black eye got lots of attention

PS - Bean was crying when he got home from school.  Crying!  He was the only kid who didn't have a snack and I'm the worst mother ever for not knowing I needed to send him with one.  He also got punched by a girl on the playground.  So much for an uneventful day at school.

  1. Yeah, did I miss something? Where'd he get the black eye?

  2. The Story of the Black Eye: He was climbing off the tramp and fell, landing on his eye. Since that's a lame story (he wasn't even jumping on the tramp) he tells everyone he got in a fight with a black belt in karate.

  5. Italy? Jealous. Hey, since we are just following in your footsteps, maybe we could make it to Italy after all? That is awesome!!! (By the way, this is Megan from Oki)
