One-on-One

Such bliss I have never known.
Last weekend Randy had some scout training over-nighter thing and he took Ethan along with him, leaving me home with just two boys.  Marcus and Ethan usual fight like cats and dogs so removing one of them from the scene felt like a vacation.  My neighbors probably noticed the change too as the noise coming from our house dropped several decibels.  I decided this was a good thing and Randy and I should make a conscious effort to spend more one-on-one time with the boys.
This brilliant idea came at the perfect time because Saturday was what we call "mandatory fun" day for Randy's endo program.  A morning filled with lectures (boring), lunch (free food!), then a football game and I was supposed to tag along for all the "fun."  Although the game would be fun, sitting around having small talk with people I didn't know was not fun to me.
So I sent Marcus.  He had a great time meeting all of Randy's school buddies/instructors and even won $50 in a raffle.  I enjoyed the day at home with only two boys so it was a win-win for everyone.
