In an attempt to live it up before the baby comes (next week!), we move to Rhode Island, and the opportunities for fun come to a temporary halt, we went on a "dinner cruise" with a bunch of good friends. They are making great attempts to give us plenty of reasons why we need to move back here when we're done with our Navy stint. The beautiful summers are one of the top reasons and boating is right up there with it.
We left the kids at home, loaded up nine couples into three boats, and cruised around Lake Washington and Lake Union. We oohed and awed at the huge mansions lining the lake, cruised under lots of bridges, and took in the Seattle skyline. We docked our boats amid a sea of yachts bigger than my house and ate one of the most delicious seafood dinners I've ever had. Discovering this restaurant right before we move is quite sad. Randy enjoyed his meal so much he wanted to lick his plate but restrained himself and mopped up every last morsel with some bread. That's a big deal if you know how little my husband eats or cares for food. Then we loaded back in the boats to cruise home under the setting sun, but not until we found the floating house from "Sleepless in Seattle." And now our Seattle experience is pretty much complete.

ReplyDeleteI know Stephen Nielson and saw pictures he posted on instagram. What a fun evening!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you'll have 4 kids. I remember I first met you when you were pregnant with Marcus. We'd love it if you lived in Utah. Did you end up buying a house back east? Pics?
