You Can Call Me Walt

As in Walt Disney because I'm making dreams come true in these parts.  Here's how it went down:
Marcus wanted to be a ninja skeleton last year for Halloween but was unhappy with my attempts to paint his face the way he wanted and I pretty much ruined his day.
This year he wanted to be a skeleton ninja or a skeleton soccer player or basically anything skeleton.  If he couldn't be a skeleton he said he'd settle for Ironman.  I drove the twenty-nine miles to our nearest Target and lo and behold, there was a skeleton ninja costume on the rack and it just happened to be his size.  It felt so miraculous I wondered if Marcus had prayed for this costume.  I had no idea such a thing even existed.
It's ugly and the mask grossed me out but I knew Marcus would pretty much think I'm the best mom ever for making his Halloween dreams come true so I bought it.  Does it bother me that my kid looked like some freak from an 80's MTV music video?  A little.  But when I took him trick-or-treating and his skeleton bones were glowing in the dark, he thought he was the coolest kid on the block.  I'm all about my kids getting to feel cool occasionally.
Now if someone could grant me my wish to have my children attend school five days a week I'd be ever so grateful.  After missing four days for Hurricane Sandy, a day off for voting (Go Mitt!) and every Federal and Jewish holiday, my kids have only had school five days in a row one week out of the school year.  Only one week!  I feel like I'm home schooling.
