We Ragnar-ed in style thanks to my Seattle friend, Kris. She's done eleven relays and knows the secret to a good time is booking a couple hotel rooms, one at each major exchange, for a little shut eye. We were able to shower, rest, and Randy and Braden even soaked their sore legs in the hot tub. Meanwhile other Ragnar teams were pitching tents in the freezing cold. Our van started our 2nd legs from about 11:30pm-4:00am which is a torturous time to run when all your body wants to do is sleep but we got her done and it was off to another hotel for a little more sleep. Too bad the stress of showing up late at our next exchange kept me from getting much sleep. Our third legs started off in beautiful sunshine. At this point, the only thing you want to do is get the race over with, but to do that you have to run. So run we did. I ran 6.3 miles and wanted to stop with every. single. step. I was so tired I tried closing my eyes while I ran but that didn't work. I had hit the wall and apparently so had lots of the other people I ran with because they were dropping like flies. I passed several guys when they stopped to walk and just when I thought things were getting better I run uphill, with the wind blowing sand in my face. I wanted to cry. Or swear. But I didn't.
We finished the race in Provincetown, MA about an hour ahead of schedule. It was awesome and unforgettable. We will be doing it next year for sure. Wanna run with us?

Great re-cap! I'm reliving everything, and it's still awesome. Next year will be, too.
