A Trip to the {Windy} City

Minutes before the wind destroyed everything
Marcus said, "I can't believe we're going to Utah's capitol!"  I'm glad he thought it was a big deal even though it's something we always do while we're here and Salt Lake City isn't exactly a huge city.  But this time we made an adventure out of it and took the kids on the double-decker train into the city.  Of course they loved it and made so much noise I felt bad for everyone else riding with us.
We met up with my sister Laura, and her three kids to have lunch.   My sisters insisted on eating at Kneaders since apparently I haven't lived until I've eaten there. We sat outside to eat our delicious sandwiches and salads and within minutes of taking our first bites, a huge gust of wind lifted the umbrella off the table, up into the air, and launched it at some poor ladies sitting next to us.  Food, drinks, and napkins flew everywhere and Laura's salad got dumped all over the ground.  The kids cried and the adults screamed as we scrambled to protect anything that hadn't been blown away.  Luckily Kneaders gave Laura a new salad and the kids forgot their sorrows as they checked out the toys in a nearby toy store.  Good times were had all around.
I love spending time with my sisters and am so glad they drop everything so we can spend time together while I'm here.  We are a tight bunch and I love talking with them, learning from them, and laughing with them.  They are incredible women and mothers.  And they know how to pick good places to eat!

Hooray for traveling without car seats!

  1. I want to go on the train! I had no idea they were in age order. Did we do that on purpose?
