We Caught a Duck and Went to Boise

This picture says it all.  My boys absolutely love being in Utah.  I keep wondering if the novelty will wear off but it doesn't. They're like me, soaking in every second of family time to store it up for the months ahead when we don't see any of them.
We've had fun hanging out with Randy's family and the boys bask in the chaos of fifteen grandkids all under the age of nine.  It gets pretty crazy!  Randy's dad took the boys fishing at a small fishing pond.  The only thing they caught was a duck.  Poor duck.  I was snapping pictures and laughing my head off while the boys looked on in horror as their Grandpa tried to free the duck from the fishing line.

Bean's duck.  So glad he didn't ask to keep it.

We spent the last three days in Boise, ID at my Grandma's house.  She fed us delicious food and didn't mind the chaos and mess we brought with us.  Her pool is the biggest above-ground swimming pool I've ever seen and I think the boys grew gills from all the swimming they did.

Every kids dream:  a huge pool all to themselves

We are living it up this summer, playing as hard as we can.  I've decided I'll just have to catch up on my sleep in the fall after the boys start school.
And happy 11th wedding anniversary to me and Randy.  He sent me cheesecake and chocolate covered strawberries.  I sent him nothing.  I am scum.  He is my knight in shining armor.

  1. You're doing a good job of making me hate my job even more. Well done.
