Wreath Making Party
I ditched the boys and drove up to Boston for the 50th Annual Wreath Making Party. Extravaganza is more like it. It started out 50 years ago with a few friends sitting around a kitchen table to make wreaths from fresh pine boughs. It has evolved into a huge event and yes, Ann Romney used to attend back in her Boston days. It's the same every year with a program followed by making a wreath {a must-have in New England}, followed by appetizers. The program always makes me cry as I listen to beautiful music and Christmas stories and is the best way to get myself into the Christmas spirit. After the program we make a beeline for the gym where we quickly grab a bow {before the good ones are taken} and stake out a table. Did I mention the whole building smells of fresh pine boughs? It is incredible. We assemble our wreaths while talking up a storm and reuniting with old friends, like Sherene, who is one of the members of our West Medford Posse who I haven't seen since we left in 2006. Anyway, the night was fabulous and put me in a good mood for the holidays. I can't wait to go again next year!

This makes me so Boston homesick!
ReplyDeleteFun!
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous! I was thinking about those awesome wreaths earlier this month. I'm glad you got to enjoy the 50th anniversary of their sacred event!
