Washington D.C. Part 2

We spent one day touring D.C. and because I can zip through a museum faster than anyone I know, we got to do quite a bit.   My roommate T and I had our own kind of fun with the boys in tow.  We talked while the boys splashed in a fountain, climbed trees and statues, and dug in the dirt at the National Botanical Gardens and I thoroughly enjoyed it all.  The last thing we did was check out the Lincoln Memorial.  The boys and I were beyond exhausted so I pulled out their scooters and suddenly their energy knew no bounds.  No one was hurt which was a modern-day miracle.
Can I just say how awesome our trip was due to smart phones?  Wow!  Using GPS instead of maps was so great, plus it helped us avoid major traffic areas.  We discovered so much more by using the National Mall App too.  All the comparisons from then {2007} to now made me feel really old.

Climbing around in front of the Capitol Building

Library of Congress and home of the Gutenberg Bible {which I did not take the time to look at.  Thanks to the internet I just learned all about it without 4 kids whining at me to hurry up}

Love the beautiful architecture.  Who needs to tour Europe when you can see this?

The sun was blinding!

More blind kids.  Wish we could've stood under ever State pillar we've lived in but that would take too long

Bean was so unimpressed by the White House

Natural History Museum

His favorite animal. Weird huh?

Thanks to our app we discovered a place we've never been too.  But it was closed for renovations. Bummer.

Beautiful.

Digging in the dirt = heaven

The Supreme Court

Lots of walking and since my kids can't walk in a straight line they walked a lot farther than I did
