Oh, the Drama

Landon kills me.  Everything he says and does is with an exclamation point.  He's either so happy he jumps for joy or he's so angry he throws himself to the floor.  Or throws things while in time out.  Last night was the perfect example.  As I tucked him into bed he reminded me that since he's almost five years old he doesn't need a night light anymore {he threw it out in the hall so I knew he meant business}.  I asked him if he was sure about this decision and reminded him not to wake up screaming because his room was dark.   He assured me everything would be fine.
Well, he lied and I'm an idiot for believing him.
At one o'clock am, I woke up to the sounds of blood curdling screams.  The screaming was loud enough to wake up even Randy, who can sleep through anything.  We both went running into Landon's room, me so I could turn on the night light because I should have known this would happen, and Randy because he was sure some intruder was torturing his son to death.  I quickly plugged in the nightlight while Marcus and Bean complained about their "noisy little brother" and "why do I have to share a room with him?"  I reassured Landon that everything would be fine and wiped the tears streaming down his face and went back to bed, waiting for my heart rate to slow down from the adrenaline rush.
No surprise that the first person to wake up the next morning was Landon all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed without a care in the world.  The little stinker!  He quite happily chowed down on his pancake breakfast while his older brothers slept in.
