A Saturday at Jamestown

Saturday morning bike rides followed by breakfast are my new favorite thing.  This time we rode around quaint and historic Jamestown.  It's a tiny island in between our house and Newport, so Randy drives through it every day on his way to work.  {He has got to have one of the most beautiful commutes of anyone I know.}  We biked past beautiful farms and beaches, and then out to a lighthouse where we took a quick picture and caught our breath.  We rode back to the marina and found a cute little place to eat breakfast at called "Slice of Heaven."  It was a beautiful morning and sitting outside with friends while eating good food truly was a slice of heaven and made me rethink our decision to leave RI.  But it only lasted for a short moment.  I've already planned to organize a Saturday morning bike ride with our friends in WA so the fun will continue.
If you're wondering how we can have time for such fun on a Saturday when they are typically filled with soccer games, yard work, church stuff, and cleaning, this was all made possible because I lied to Landon and told him his soccer game was cancelled so Randy and I could go on a bike ride.  I still feel bad about it but when I think of how many soccer games are in that kid's future versus how many times Randy and I will get to bike ride with our friends I feel justified.  We got home just in time to rush the kids out the door for Marcus and Ethan's games, then it was back home to mow the lawn and clean the house while Randy drove down to Connecticut for a church meeting.  After the work was done I decided we need a little adventure so back to Jamestown we went.  We found a little cafe for dinner and then the boys played hard for a solid hour at a park that was fun enough to keep both the older and younger boys entertained.  Those kind of parks are hard to find these days.
Randy drives over that bridge every day to work.  Lucky guy!

I'm sure this yacht costs more than our house
