Mel and Cheryl

Cheryl was my best friend all through my college days.  We were pretty much inseparable.  My other roommates would get so annoyed when they'd answer the phone and the guy on the other end would ask to talk to Mel or Cheryl as if we were one in the same.  Somehow Randy managed to sneak his way into my life but even as we dated we managed to include Cheryl quite a bit.  After we graduated from BYU, I got married and moved to Boston and Cheryl got a sweet job in DC.  Now she's married and has four boys and decided to come to RI for one final hurrah before I leave the East Coast for good.
We took Cheryl's family to several beaches and now they are pretty much convinced RI is one of the most beautiful places you could possibly live.  Cheryl and I decided it's too bad our husbands can't get jobs in the same area because then we'd buy one big giant house to raise both our families in together.
Narragansett Beach

Randy enjoying his day off from work

We took them to our most recent beach find we call "Secret Beach"

8 boys climbing around on rocks and no one got hurt.  It's a miracle!

We took Cheryl out for a birthday dinner.  Randy LOVED the clams

Simpatico is Randy's favorite restaurant.  If you visit us he'll treat you to dinner there.

Cheryl and David

I took all 8 boys to the pond while their parents went to Block Island for the day

Searching for turtles

They caught 2 crawdads but we had to leave when I discovered Marcus and Bean's legs were covered in leeches

Beavertail park and lighthouse

More climbing on rocks and searching for crabs

Jackpot!  Marcus found a ton of crabs.

More climbing on rocks... a boy's dream and a mother's nightmare

More climbing on rocks in Newport as we walked along the Cliff Walk

The Cliff Walk even has tunnels.  The boys couldn't get enough!

Nothing says vacation like ice cream for dinner at 9:00pm
