First Day of School

And they're gone!  We've been counting down the days waiting for school to start.  Normally we soak up every second of summer vacation but this summer was rough.  Really rough.  Getting ready to move, moving, and recovering from moving is all we feel like we've been doing.  It's been hard on everyone so hopefully that will make for an easy adjustment to school.  Our mornings are kind of crazy with 3 boys leaving at 3 different times.  I don't know what I'd do without the alarms on my phone telling me where to be every hour.

wearing a tie on the 1st day for the third year in a row.  This boy dresses for success!
Marcus started 6th grade and his first real year of middle school.  Last year's middle school experience was just a baby step towards the real thing.  Luckily knowing how to open a locker is half the battle and riding the bus is no big deal either.  He had a great first day and his highlight was playing on one of the foosball tables at lunch.

He came home from school and fell asleep while he was reading.  Waking up much earlier than you're used to is exhausting!

Ethan started 4th grade and was a little more nervous this year than he typically is.  Luckily his best friend is in his class and they get to sit by each other so life is good.  He was frustrated on his first day when he got in trouble on the playground because he didn't know the rules.  He has to keep reminding adults that he's new and doesn't know all the rules or his way around the school.

I'm still waiting for him to get home but I think riding the bus was most exciting for him
Landon started afternoon kindergarten.  I think he's in school less than when he was in preschool so we're calling this kindergarten round 2.  He'd do fine in full day kindergarten but you have to pay $300/month so naturally I'm opting for the free option.  Plus, Parker needs a buddy.

We are still getting settled in. The internet, cable, and landline has been out for the past week so that's been frustrating.  Randy is tolerating his new job.  His back is killing him, which is to be expected, so our first big home improvement purchase will be a hot tub.  He can't wait and neither can the boys.  I started going to a boot camp class 3 times/week that starts at 5:15am.  Even getting up that early I still don't find enough time in the day accomplish all that I need to do.  But with 3 boys in sports with practices that overlap, I'm actually juggling everything pretty well.  So far so good!
