Marcus, The Eagle Scout

Marcus became an Eagle Scout on Saturday!
We are proud of him, of course.  And we are so happy to have all those eagle requirements behind us because it's one less thing to nag him about.  He finished his project back in August and has been dragging his feet for quite awhile to get the last little details done.  But he's done! He even earned THREE bronze palms.  You get those for doing extra merit badges so for Marcus to earn three of them means he's got like a million merit badges.  Marcus gave a short little speech at his court of honor {and by the way he did such a good job speaking on the spot} and said how he was so happy to be done with scouts but looking back on all the fun things he did made him realize how many cool things he's done because of scouting.  And he's right!  Hiking along the Pacific Rim Trail, taking ferry boats to islands where he hiked and biked, building snow caves at Mt. Rainier, etc.  Here's a few pictures of one of the greatest nights of Randy's life :)

Marcus with the current scout master and friend who earned his Eagle as well

Marcus playing prelude for a bit.  I love a boy who can play the piano!

Landon reading part of the eagle oath

The crowd and Eagle's Nest off the to the right.  Not a bad turn out for a Saturday night.

Randy hasn't smiled this big since our wedding day!

Getting my Mother's pin

Randy getting the father's pin and mentor pin (he's going to have a HUGE collection of mentor pins coming in the next year)
I love this picture!  Except that I look pregnant.  I am not pregnant.
We love scouts!

Grandpa and Grandma came up to support Marcus!

3 generations of Eagle Scouts!

I actually missed half the program because I was out in the hall with Henry.  He was in rare form.  Too many strangers around him I guess.  Luckily a friend took all the pictures for me.....sometimes kids are the worst!
