Graduation....it's not just one event. It's a whole bunch of events, parties, and ceremonies that consumed our lives for weeks on end. While all these events were happening we still had lacrosse for the younger boys and Marcus's intense Senior Assassins Nerf Gun battle that lasted weeks on end along with the remodel. Things were out of control on all fronts. But it sure was fun to celebrate Marcus. I think I only cried once but I definitely felt some pretty big emotions ranging from happiness that all these good things were happening, relief that Marcus was done at Skyline, and sadness that he's leaving the nest. For anyone with a senior coming up, my advice to you is buckle up! It's going to be a crazy year!

Seminary graduation was the beginning of all the endings. Four years of getting up early to get spiritually fed before school is a HUGE accomplishment!
Next up was baccalaureate. It's a non-denominational religious ceremony for graduating seniors and was my favorite part of all this stuff. Marcus had no idea what it was but said yes when they asked him to be one of the MC's. I was super proud that he represented himself so well in front of a huge crowd at a very formal event.

After the baccalaureate ceremony was over we were able to get some good pictures with his LDS friends |

He graduated! On a super rainy day at T-Mobile Park. It was pure chaos after the ceremony with nowhere to get pictures as the rain poured down on us so we did what we could and hightailed it to the car.
The ceremony went pretty fast considering the huge number of kids. And no one thought to get creative when they told the announcer their name until Marcus got his turn. "Marcus State Champ Ball!" :)
The boys had to miss school for this and they were thrilled. The Seniors graduate a week before school gets out for everyone else.
No time for a fancy meal. Marcus wanted to eat at QDoba (his Covid job) before rushing to the airport for his senior trip to Hawaii.
Marcus and eight of his UT friends went to the Big Island with four parents as chaperones. He escaped the rain and all the parties here in WA that weren't that great. Marcus paid for everything but the airfare. He's so lucky to have had this opportunity and to have such great friends that parents wanted to chaperone them. I would NEVER want to do something like that! There were hundreds of pictures shared on this trip so here are only a few of them....
